August 23 - Intermax Logistics Solutions Ltd, a member of the Cargo Equipment Experts (CEE) network in China, was contracted to deliver 200 hopper railcars to Venezuela by CSR Meishan Co Ltd.
CSR is a manufacturer of railway vehicles in Sichuan Province, located in the southwest of the People's Republic.
Intermax delivered the first lot of 140 railcars to Shanghai Terminal during July 2013; the consignment was loaded onboard a chartered vessel and shipped out in just two days. The remaining 60 cars were shipped earlier in August.
The hopper railcars had to be stowed below-deck and were non-stackable, which limited the number of suitable ocean going vessels that could be chartered for the project.
Each shipment was delivered to Puerto Ordaz, an inland port located in Northeast Venezuela.
