August 30 - Intermarine has taken delivery of the 12,500 dwt multipurpose vessel Industrial Skipper, which was constructed at Shandong Huanghai shipyard in Rongcheng, China.

Industrial Skipper transported modules to Corpus Christi, Texas, on its maiden voyage from China (see pic below).

The 147 m long ship, which features two cranes with a combined lifting capacity of 500 tonnes, is the first Ecolift 500 vessel to be delivered in Intermarine's fleet renewal programme.

The fleet renewal programme - dubbed Fleet of the Future - will see ships delivered to the heavy lift shipping line through till 2019, with the vessels claiming improved capacity and flexibility for the trading of project cargo.

Designed to be more ecologically friendly, Intermarine claims that the Ecolift 500 fleet boasts reduced consumption and lowered greenhouse emissions, while complying with the latest wastewater requirements and ECA zone fuel requirements.
