February 3 - Arkon Shipping & Projects' latest newbuilding, Industrial Song, has been delivered by the shipyard and entered into long-term employment with heavy lift shipping line Intermarine.
According to Arkon, the delivery of Industrial Song marks the completion of the Ecolift 500 newbuilding series, with the other three ships - Industrial Skipper, Industrial Strength and Industrial Swift - already operating in Intermarine's service.
The 12,3000 dwt vessels are fitted with two 250-tonne capacity cranes manufactured by Germany based heavy-duty crane producer TTS NMF. The cranes can be used in tandem to lift loads of up to 500 tonnes.
All four ships in the Ecolift 500 series are optimised for the carriage of project, heavy lift and IMO cargoes, as well as bulk and containerised consignments. The vessels also fulfil all current and upcoming environmental regulations, said Arkon.
HLPFI reported in August 2016 that the first ship in the Ecolift 500 series - Industrial Skipper - had been delivered to Intermarine. Industrial Strength was subsequently delivered to the shipping line in October 2016, while Industrial Swift entered Intermarine's service in early January.
