Commercial operations for Höegh’s first Aurora Class vessel have begun.
After bunkering LNG in Shanghai, the vessel made its first port call in Hitachinaka port, Japan. The ship then made its way to Busan, South Korea. This was part of its first journey through the Kanmon Straits. Now in the South China Sea, the vessel will soon begin its journey to Europe.
In the coming years, 11 sister vessels will join the Höegh Aurora as part of an effort by the ro-ro shipping specialist to cut emissions and enhance efficiency.
Earlier in August, HLPFI reported on the delivery and naming of the vessel at a ceremony at China Merchants Heavy Industry’s (CMHI) yard in Jiangsu.
