March 31 - Ruslan International has handled the transport of a mobile analyser house from Bucharest, Romania to Qatar for use in the Qatar Fertiliser Company's production plant in Doha.
Ruslan worked closely with Austria-based freight forwarder Gebrüder Weiss to transport the cargo, which measured 11.6 m x 4.8 m x 3.4 m. Due to the size of the house, there were only a few centimetres of clearance between the equipment and the walls of the AN-124-100 aircraft's hold, said Ruslan.
The company also had to ensure that the cargo was secured in the hold without any changes being made to the outside of the analyser house, in line with the client's brief.
This ruled out drilling holes and welding, explained Ruslan, so a steel rail had to be installed beneath the cargo with lashing points to secure the load, while steel bars were also attached to the roof in order to secure the house against vertical movements.
The mobile analyser house will be used to perform an analysis of chemical contents during the production of ammonia and urea at the Doha plant.
