April 28 - Holleman Bulgaria has transported a 50-tonne locomotive from Paracin, Serbia to Brindisi in Italy.
The locomotive, which measured 37.5 m x 3.2 m x 4.37 m, was loaded on a truck and trailer combination in Paracin, before being transported to the Greek city of Igoumenitsa via Bulgaria.
In Igoumenitsa, the trailer combination - weighing a total of 102 tonnes - was loaded onto a ro-ro vessel for shipment to Brindisi.
Holleman explained that the most challenging part of the journey was passing under several bridges with height limits in Serbia.
Holleman is a member of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) and Cargo Equipment Experts (CEE) network in Bulgaria.
