Renewable energy-related training provider Heinemann Solutions has opened a new site at Mukran port in Sassnitz, Germany, where practice-oriented safety training to Global Wind Organization (GWO) standards will be offered from March 2025.
The new training hall – Im Fährhafen 1 – has custom-built structures and conditions that simulate a wind turbine hub. Expansion of the hall began in spring 2024, final construction was completed in autumn 2024, and the location was certified as part of Heinemann Solutions’ regular GWO recertification in December 2024.
“Mukran port is a central hub, especially for the offshore wind industry in the Baltic Sea region,” said Holger Heinemann, managing director of Heinemann Solutions. Our presence enables companies to optimally prepare their employees on-site for the challenges of offshore work – and then deploy them directly.”
Heinemann Solutions is also planning a strategic expansion of its training programme in Sassnitz, including crane operator licences and electrotechnical training offered onsite.
“Practical safety trainings are essential for the offshore wind industry, shipbuilding and the shipyard industry,” added Claudia Martens, head of business and energy at Mukran port. “This establishment once again underlines the importance of the port for the offshore industry and the maritime economy in Germany.”
Along with its headquarters in Elsfleth, Germany, Heinemann Solutions also offers mobile training courses directly at its customers’ site. Its figures in 2025 are expected to grow, following 1,000 training courses being held and 6,000 certificates issued in 2024.
In December 2024, HLPFI reported that sustainable stainless steel manufacturer Outokumpu was establishing a plant at Mukran port.
