October 8 - Antwerp-based heavy lift company Heavy International Services has acquired a new 300 tonne-capacity modular self-propelled vehicle.
The self-propelled system consists of four-axle and six-axle modules. Each axle has a load capacity of 36 tonnes.
The vehicle allows the company to "move heavy loads at locations with limited room for manoeuvres," says Heavy International.
The company's heavy lift section has been involved in significant projects such as lifting a 12 tonne boat and its launch in the Albert Canal; the transport and installation of a 26 tonne cyclotron; the lifting of a petrol station canopy; and the transhipment of 30 to 50 tonne windmills.
