August 12 - Tornio, Finland based heavy lifting specialist Havator has used its Terex CC 2800 lattice boom crawler crane in three complex lifting projects over the past few months.
Havator first used the 600-tonne capacity crane in the replacement of 62-tonne process washers at a paper mill in Pietarsaari. The crane was then disassembled and loaded onto 15 conventional trailers and three heavy-duty trailers for the 250 km journey to its next job in Oulu.
On arrival the crane was used to change electric plant filters at the Toppila power station. The Terex model, which was configured with a 42 m main boom, 30 m luffing jib and 160 tonnes of counterweight, was tasked with lifting four 200-tonne filters, each measuring 20 m in height.
Once the project was complete, the crawler was transported another 100 km by road and barged to an island, where it began work on the Kemi wind turbine project.
