Container shipping line Hapag-Lloyd has opened an office in Lagos, Nigeria. In Lagos, Hapag-Lloyd calls at the ports of Apapa and Tin Can Island.
“Hapag-Lloyd has been expanding its business steadily in West Africa over the past years,” explained Dheeraj Bhatia, senior managing director – region Middle East at Hapag-Lloyd. “Our new office in Lagos will create further growth for us and will help us to even better connect Nigeria to the world.”
With large oil reserves and a growing middle class, Nigeria’s imports range from industrial machinery to electronic appliances. The country’s main exports include cocoa beans, cashews, and other agricultural products, as well as crude oil and products.
