November 4 - Southampton Cargo Handling (SCH) has signed a new contract with ro-ro shipping line Höegh Autoliners to continue servicing its vessel calls at the UK gateway for a three-year period.
The line carries a wide range of heavy plant equipment and automobiles on its Southampton services as part of various routes linking Northern Europe with the Middle East, the Far East, Africa and Australia.
SCH director Kevin Hulme said: "We celebrate 25 years of servicing Höegh ships this year and this is a fitting way to plan for the future."
SCH receives cargo in the Eastern Docks for the regular Höegh services, besides providing mooring and stevedoring operations. SCH handles around 100 port calls a year by Höegh vessels.
