United Heavy Transport (UHT) and Guangzhou Salvage have ended their commercial management agreement for the latter’s semi-submersible fleet.

Guangzhou Salvage and UHT end their commercial management arrangement

The partnership dates back to 2018 when GS-Pango International (GSP), as the exclusive commercial agent for Guangzhou Salvage’s semi-submersible fleet, appointed United Heavy Lift (UHL) as an agent. When UHT formally launched in 2020, it took over commercial operation of the semi-submersible vessels in the roster.

According to UHT, the fleet will no longer fall under its commercial management following Guangzhou Salvage’s decision to form a commercial joint venture with COSCO, which will manage the combined semi-submersible fleet.

“Our enduring partnership with Guangzhou Salvage, and GSP remains steadfast as we explore new avenues of collaboration, particularly by leveraging the diverse marine assets available within GS’s portfolio,” said UHT. “Together, we are committed to maximising the synergies between our organisations and utilise the full spectrum of GS’s marine offshore resources.”
