Associated British Ports’ (ABP) port of Grimsby in Lincolnshire has signed a memorandum of understating (MoU) with energy giant, innogy, to develop a base location for the Triton Knoll offshore wind farm project.
As part of the agreement, the port will serve as the wind farm’s operations and maintenance (O&M) base. The base, located along the quayside on the port estate, will be the main hub for all support vessels travelling to and from the site.
Construction of the 860 MW offshore wind farm is due to commence in 2019, with the site anticipated to be fully online and commissioned by 2022.
