February 11 - Memmingen, Germany-based Goldhofer is set to unveil a new three-axle SPZ-P 3 AAA type flatbed semi-trailer at the 29th 'bauma' international exhibition in Munich in April.
The SPZ-P 3 AAA type has been designed for the transport of extremely long wind power generator blades.
The company is also set to reveal a new STZ-VP type two and three-axle compact dropdeck trailer with pendular axles, as well as further products. Altogether the company is set to present seven new Goldhofer products at the bauma.
"For us, the bauma is an important benchmark in 2010. It is the leading trade event and for us the most important exhibition in the German-speaking world," notes Goldhofer chairman Stefan Fuchs. The company has booked a 1,000 sq m stand to display the new developments.
The triple telescopic flatbed semitrailer SPZ-P 3 AAA has been developed for the movement of blades over even the most extreme terrain.
"Goldhofer has, with this development, succeeded for the first time ever in telescoping a vehicle over more than 62 metres," says Fuchs.
The compact dropdeck semitrailer STZ-VP, with pendular axles for short vehicle lengths, brings under one roof a larger payload with greater mobility: "Because we were able to significantly reduce deadweight, there is a benefit of more than 2 tonnes payload per axle line compared to a vehicle with air suspension," says Fuchs.
To date, Goldhofer has delivered more than 32,000 heavy-haulage vehicles in more than 70 nations.
Thousands of visitors are expected at the triennial bauma exhibition in April. The last, held in 2007, saw over 3000 exhibitors from 49 countries, with more than half a million visitors from 191 countries and a total area occupied by the exhibition of 540,000 sq m.
