August 6 - GMB Maritime Liner Services and Volans Logistics have joined forces to offer a new liner service for breakbulk and project cargoes from Europe to the west coast of South America via the Caribbean and north coast of South America.
The new service, which has been dubbed GMB Condor Liner Service, will call at a number of European ports, including northern Spain, before crossing the Atlantic to call mainly at Ecuador, Peru and Chile on the west coast of South America.
GMB added that the vessels deployed on the service include San Vicente, San Rafael, San Pedro, and support by additional multipurpose tonnage, all of which can carry cargoes weighing up to 200 tonnes. The multipurpose vessel Emsland has already completed the service's first shipment.
Project cargo loaded onboard Emsland for the service's first sailing.
