December 4 - Kazakhstan headquartered forwarder Globalink was recently contracted to move super-heavy high-pressure columns from Japan to Atyrau.
Globalink has been involved in the modernisation of the Atyrau oil refinery for several years - the overhaul of downstream facilities has been a major priority for Kazakhstan.
Globalink arranged for the delivery of the 25 m long columns from Japan; the company's project logistics team was on hand at the port of Astrakhan to ensure the columns were safely discharged from a vessel, before being secured to specialised heavy lift trailers.
Despite challenging weather conditions and physical obstacles the columns were delivered on time, ready for installation.
Globalink is a member of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) representing Kazakhstan.
