January 21 - PSP, a Southampton, UK-based freight forwarder with experience of moving boats and cruisers, is heading up a new global boat transportation alliance. The aim of the alliance is to give customers "an ever-improving, seamless global service, as
The company says that it has hand-picked businesses in Germany, Italy, Spain, India, South Africa, China, Dubai, Australasia, the USA and Antigua to join the affiliation.
Dixie said: "We have taken the marine sector by storm in the last two years. The launch of our worldwide boat transportation alliance shows how serious we are and will enable us to control our services, rather than being controlled by the shipping lines. The PSP alliance means that every person our customer comes into contact with will work the way we want them to.
"Each member of the alliance has been chosen specifically by their presence in the boat building and marina industries, and because they are tried and tested we know they can deliver great service to the standards we set."
The launch of the alliance comes as PSP has become the exclusive UK retailer for the Dockwise maiden voyage sailing from Southampton to Palma de Mallorca and Marmaris, Turkey, in June 2010. The deal will see Dockwise's float-on, float-off semi-submersible yacht carriers come to Southampton, the first time such ships have been seen in the port for many years.
PSP currently has a ship heading to the Miami Boat Show over Port Everglades and St Thomas.
