September 29 - Quality Freight has coordinated the transport of 74 units of plant and equipment from the UK to Gibraltar for use in a runway and airstrip renovation project.
The consignment, which comprised a number of items including various out-of-gauge (OOG) and overweight units, was shipped from both the Irish port of Belfast and English port of Tilbury to Gibraltar.
In Belfast, the equipment and associated materials were loaded and lashed onboard the general cargo vessel Oceanic before being shipped to Gibraltar; while in Tilbury the cargo was loaded onto 40 ft flatrack containers and lifted onto a OPDR liner vessel for delivery to the British territory.
The scope of Quality Freight's work included chartering the vessels, receiving the cargo at the UK loading ports, stevedoring operations, and coordinating the discharge of the vessels.
