March 18 - McDan Shipping has received two 85-tonne electrical transformers at the Ghanaian port of Tema, before transporting them by road to Winneba.

McDan arranged for two of its 120-tonne capacity lowbed trailers to drive up alongside the arriving vessel, so that the cargo could be lifted onto the vehicles. This avoided dual handling and saved the client port demurrage charges, said McDan.

At the jobsite in Winneba, McDan mobilised its 150-tonne capacity crane to offload the transformers, ready for installation.

The transformers were imported from Egypt by the Ghanaian government in order to improve the country's electricity supply.
