June 28 - Geodis has signed a framework agreement with French multinational Thales for the management of its transport and logistics operations in France.
The Geodis deal covers consultancy, the management of Customs services, the coordination of suppliers, and optimisation of transport solutions for the manufacturing and supply chain departments of Thales across France.
The agreement also includes the design and implementation of transport solutions for special projects requiring specific engineering.
As part of the contract, Geodis has acquired all of the shares held by Thales in the two parties' joint venture, Thales Geodis Freight & Logistics (TGFL), which provides bespoke logistics for players in the aerospace and defence sector.
TGFL's teams will join Geodis' supply chain optimisation business unit.
