December 16 - The needs of the global generating industry, both electricity generating and oil and gas production, are creating good opportunities for project cargo forwarder Ahlers, the company has revealed.
An important contract for Ahlers Moscow saw the movement of six 4MW Jenbacher gensets. The ex-works shipment was undertaken for Russian dealer Intma, including transportation and import clearance under 0 0mport duties and 0% VAT.
Collected in Italy from the packaging facilities of Jenbacher Austria, each set consisted of three oversized units and four standard trucks. The heaviest item weighed 50 tonnes. The consignment was moved through the German port of Lübeck to the port of St Petersburg with truck delivery to Russia's Cheliabinsk region.
Meanwhile, a major shipment of pipes was moved from China to Nigeria by Ahlers. Some 7,000 m of pipes were shipped ex-Xingang to Nigeria with transhipment in Antwerp, Belgium.
