January 19 - German Albanian Logistics Agency (GALA) - part of the EMS-Fehn-Group - has completed the delivery of 8,000 tonnes of coated pipes from Albania to Kosovo.
The pipes arrived in two batches into the Albanian port of Durres, from where they were transported by road to Kosovo's capital Priština.
The pipes are part of an infrastructure project worth EUR50 million (USD54.48 million), which includes the construction of a new water treatment plant, network and pumping stations in the capital. Due to a sharp rise in the city's population, Priština is currently suffering from serious water shortages, which this project aims to address.
GALA acted as agent for the vessels and was responsible for the discharge, intermediate storage and the transport to the site, working closely with a Kosovo based transport company.
