June 30 - German Albanian Logistics Agency (GALA) has begun discharging equipment for the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) project at the Port of Durres in Albania.
With the start of the pipeline construction only weeks away, the East Terminal at Durres has already seen over half of the 130,000 tonnes of pipes required to build the 215 km pipeline arrive at the port.
GALA is acting as agent for the vessels that bring the pipes from the Port of Brake in Germany to Durres.
GALA's sister company and operator of the East Terminal, EMS Albanian Port Operator (EMS APO), is responsible for discharging the pipeline project components in Albania.
The most recent vessel - Morgenstond I - arrived in Durres loaded with specialised vehicles and cranes for use in the TAP projects.
