August 18 - GAC Netherlands has opened a Logistics and Maritime Service Centre to increase efficiency, improve customer services and bring its ship spares logistics and freight forwarding operations under one roof at a new 6,500 sq m office and warehouse
GAC Netherlands' new premises are strategically located in the Distriport Benelux area of Rotterdam port, enabling it to take full advantage of nearby motorway connections and harbours with direct waterway and railway connections.
The new facility is headed by managing director Ries Hoogenboezem, previously MD of GAC-OBC Netherlands, and will take advantage of clear synergies within the previous GAC Marine Logistics (GML) operations (formerly based in Spijkenisse in Rotterdam), and GAC-OBC logistics services (with offices in Rotterdam and Vlissingen).
GAC Marine's vessels and crews support the offshore oil, gas and construction industries, providing anchor handling, personnel and supply, safety and security, fire and rescue, towage, and ship-to-ship transfer services. GAC Marine's growing fleet includes high-speed supply boats, tugs, barges, floating cranes and landing craft. The fleet also has a long history of engagement with inshore project cargo transportation and offloading.
