December 24 - Dubai-headquartered GAC Logistics has signed a Global Network Agency (GNA) agreement for ports in Ghana, Togo and Benin with Oil and Marine Agencies (OMA) Ltd.
Effective from January 1, 2013, the agreement forms part of GAC's strategic expansion in West Africa.
Togo-headquartered OMA, an established provider of agency and support services to ports, has since 2007 expanded into Benin and Ghana and plans to open in the Ivory Coast in 2013.
Erland Ebbersten, GAC's group vice president for Africa, Central Asia and Russia stated that the corporate cultures of the two companies have many similarities, making the formation of the GAC-OMA alliance a natural addition to the GAC network.
