May 23 - GAC Norway AS and Polar Logistics Group ApS (POLOG) of Denmark have formed a strategic partnership - strengthening the GAC network in the Arctic Circle.
POLOG is a Copenhagen headquartered logistics specialist, and claims a particular skill in operating in remote and harsh environments. GAC hopes to combine its logistics, shipping and maritime expertise with POLOG's network throughout Greenland to meet increasing logistics demand into the Arctic Circle - particularly from oil and gas exploration customers.
Jan Almqvist, managing director, POLOG commented: "Together with GAC, we shall further strengthen our focus on the Arctic market whilst also broadening our global perspective by taking our wealth of experience in complex remote location operations wherever it's needed."
Herman Jorgensen, general manager, GAC Norway, noted that POLOG's skills complement GAC's and will enable it to better-serve exploration clients in remote locations: "We are excited to begin exploring the world's remotest locations together, to extend our portfolio of services to the shipping and energy industry and help our clients venture to new frontiers."
