March 25 - Colombo-based Freight Links International, the Sri Lanka member of project forwarding network the Project Professionals Group, is providing logistics solutions for a luxury island resort six km off the island's north-west coast.
Freight Links has assisted in the construction of a passenger jetty and operation of a speedboat service to transport cargo, hotel guests and employees to the site.
The 20-year old freight forwarder, which has eight branch offices in India in addition to offices in Dubai, Male, St Petersburg and Moscow, as well as offices at Bandaranaike International airport, says it was the first Sri Lankan freight forwarder to be certified for compliance with ISO standards.
The 5-star, 170-room island resort is still at stage one of construction with the first speedboat commissioned in February being operated by a Freight Links coxswain.
