December 12 - FOX Brasil is transporting equipment and machinery from Brazil to the project site of the Parallel Thimble Shoal Tunnel project (PTST) at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel in Virginia, USA.
FOX Brasil is responsible for the coordination and export of all the necessary equipment and machinery for the foundation works of the project, which will construct a second road tunnel beneath the Thimble Shoal navigation channel.
When complete, the new tunnel will carry two lanes of traffic southbound and the existing tunnel will carry two lanes of traffic northbound.
As part of the ongoing project, FOX has provided stuffing, lashing and bracing for several open top containers and flat racks; the haulage of over-dimensional cargoes on special trailers; handled port operations and ocean freight; and completed the Customs clearance of the cargoes.
According to FOX, the largest item weighed 73.5 tons (66.7 tonnes).
