October 22 - Aaras Projects & Logistics unloaded heavy and oversize goods from four breakbulk and project cargo vessels at Karachi port in September, through its affiliated company Aaras Shipping Agencies.
The total weight of the cargo that was unloaded by Aaras' stevedores in Pakistan was 65,340.5 tonnes, including a number of heavy and oversize units, explained the company.
The first vessel - Chang Hang Bin Hai - arrived in Karachi carrying a consignment of cargo, including lifting equipment, steel structures and accessories for a coal power plant; as well as truck-mounted concrete pumps, iron, steel, pipes, wooden supports and other smaller units.
Aaras then received the second vessel - CK Glory - which was carrying 2,608 units of cargo, including machinery and equipment for a biomass co-generation power plant; equipment for a coal-fired power plant; plant machinery and equipment for a hydropower project; and steam turbine generator sets.
The third vessel, DL Pansy, arrived in Pakistan with a consignment comprising specialised oil well drilling equipment and accessories, as part of an ongoing consignment.
Finally, Aaras' stevedores unloaded machinery and equipment for a Fatima Energy power plant from the vessel Dato Success, as well as turbine parts and oil pipe assembly parts for the Punjab Power Management project, and truck cranes for a hydropower development.
