July 12 - Volga-Dnepr Airlines has transported 197 tonnes of automotive machinery from Japan to the USA for Nippon Express.
The airline's Hanoi, Vietnam-based team, which serves Volga-Dnepr's customers in the Asia Pacific region, assessed the cargo and prepared the plan to transport the oversized shipments on board four AN-124-100 freighter flights from Tokyo to San Francisco.
According to Hiro Tsukada, the airline's representative in Japan: "Having local experts in the same time zone as our customer made our cooperation even easier and meant we could reduce the required planning time and meet the short delivery deadline.
The machinery was secured to the AN-124's cargo floor and was loaded and unloaded using the aircraft's onboard handling systems.
