February 4 - Curtis J. Foltz, executive director of the Georgia Ports Authority (GPA), will step down from his role at the end of the fiscal year on June 30, 2016.

Foltz has agreed to provide consulting services to the GPA for one year after his departure.

The GPA board unanimously accepted the nominating committee's recommendation to appoint the current chief operating officer, Griff Lynch, to succeed Foltz as executive director.

Total tonnage across all of the GPA's terminals reached a record 31.48 million tonnes in 2015 - an increase of 3.6 percent compared with the previous year.

Although container tonnage accounted for most of that growth, breakbulk cargo volumes also rose by 1.7 percent to 2.79 million tonnes.
