March 7 - FLS Projects has transported two pontoons, each weighing 126 tons (114.3 tonnes), two link spans and four struts from Vietnam to Australian waters on board a Spliethoff heavy lift ship.
The company then utilised the ship's cranes to assemble the pieces into a jetty alongside the vessel.
According to FLS Projects, the jetty will allow a ferry to operate between Weipa and Rio Tinto's Amrun Project.
Meanwhile, FLS Projects USA has completed the discharging operation of a 190-tonne boiler in New Orleans, USA. The boiler was loaded on to a BBC Chartering heavy lift vessel in the Port of Masan, South Korea in February for its journey to New Orleans.
FLS Projects USA completed the discharging operation directly onto a barge alongside the vessel.
