January 26 - Fleet Line Shipping recently loaded a 160-tonne crew boat at Mussafah port in Abu Dhabi.
The 41 m x 8 m x 12 m crew boat, Stanford Pelican, was loaded onboard a BBC Chartering breakbulk vessel destined for Lagos, Nigeria. In order to securely stow the crew boat, the Fleet Line technical team had to design and fabricate a bespoke cradle based on technical drawings of Stanford Pelican.
The disassembled cradle was delivered to Mussafah port and the Fleet Line team assembled half of the cradle onshore, which was then lifted onto the breakbulk vessel. The remaining cradle parts were bolted together on board.
The crew boat was then safely lifted from the water using the ship's onboard cranes and placed on the cradle.
