August 11 - Berths at the Green Port Hull development at Alexandra Dock in the UK have carried out their first task - handling ships delivering crushed stone, which will be used to surface the wind turbine factory site that is being built by Siemens.
Stema Shipping's Bulknes and Beltnes became the first commercial ships to use the berths which have been built by port operator ABP, delivering almost 400,000 tonnes of stone from Norway.
Ultimately the new 620 m quayside will handle wind installation vessels visiting the Siemens facility.
