January 9 - A2SEA has installed the first turbine on the Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm (OWF) in the UK's North Sea.

The first turbine, out of the 67 Siemens 6 MW turbines, was installed by the crew on board the company's sea challenger. The vessel will be used to install the turbines being shipped from Green Port Hull in the UK.

The vessel was jacked up to 20 m above sea level and had accommodation for 80 persons including the A2SEA crew. Since September 1, 2016, sea challenger has been used for offshore accommodation during completion and commissioning of the offshore substation.

The Dudgeon OWF is owned by Statoil (35 percent), Masdar (35 percent) and Statkraft (30 percent) and is situated 32 km off the coast of the UK. When fully commissioned, it will provide over 400,000 households with renewable power.
