September 2 - Earlier this year Finnlines announced its intention to launch several new routes for its Baltic and North Sea operations.
Since July a weekly service has connected Finland and Russia to the UK, Spain and France. The service calls at Santander, El Ferrol (fortnightly), Radicatel (HAROPA - Port of Rouen), Hull (UK), Helsinki, St Petersburg, Kotka (Finland), and finishes its journey at Rauma (Finland).
Four conventional ro-ro ships (CONRO) provide the service on fixed days (Friday / Saturday), transporting containerised or conventional freight as well as vehicles.
In France, it calls at HAROPA's Radicatel Terminal and HAROPA's commercial and marketing director, Hervé Cornède, says that the decision of the Grimaldi Group, Finnline's parent company, to expand its services via HAROPA provides a strong mark of confidence for all shippers.
In March 2013, Grimaldi already illustrated its confidence in HAROPA by opening a second service to Africa from the ports of Le Havre and Rouen.
