May 22 - The naming ceremony for NileDutch's fourth newbuild vessel - NileDutch Rotterdam - has taken place at the Transnet Terminals in Cape Town, South Africa.
The four custom-designed containerships, which are capable of handling out-of-gauge project cargoes, will be registered in the Netherlands and fly the Dutch flag. The dimensions and deck equipment of the four new vessels are tailored to the ports they will call at in West Africa, which NileDutch says will enable it to serve this key market even better.
Each vessel has a capacity of 3,510 teu, with an overall length of 224 m, beam of 34.8 m and draft of 12.5 m. The newbuilds will operate on NileDutch's West Africa - Far East rotation.
The third newbuild vessel, NileDutch Antwerpen, was named at the end of April.
