Trailer manufacturer Faymonville has introduced a fourth pin-on flip axle as the latest option for the MegaMAX double drop trailer in North America.
According to Faymonville, the steerable flip axle helps to increase the legal payload of the trailer and ensure more versatility when travelling from state to state.
For example, at an axle load of 20,000 lbs (9 tonnes), the pin-on flip axle allows a total payload capacity up to 95,000 lbs (43 tonnes). At the maximum technical axle rating of 22,700 lbs (10.3 tonnes) in the four-axle configuration, the trailer can handle up to 105,800 lbs (48 tonnes).
When the fourth axle is not needed, Faymonville says it is easy to detach or flip the axle to shorten the combination.
Faymonville says the four-axle double drop with steerable pin-on flip offers high levels of manoeuvrability and access to tight areas such as construction sites, power plants or inner cities.
The height of the hydraulic detachable gooseneck can also be adjusted while providing maximum flexibility during the loading and unloading of construction machinery.
