August 22 - The 50th 1,200-tonne capacity Liebherr LTM 11200-9.1 heavy-duty mobile crane has been sold to Japanese company Yamagata.
Liebherr claims that the LTM 11200-9.1, which was unveiled at 2007's Bauma in Munich, is the most powerful telescopic mobile crane on the market.
The crane model has a 100 m telescopic boom, as well as lattice extensions and a luffing jib, and can reach hoisting heights of up to 188 m.
This will be the fifth LTM 11200-9.1 to be delivered to Japan.
Yamagata, which is based in Ibaraki, plans to use its new crane for work on wind farms. The company specialises in all types of transport, but has particular experience in transporting components for wind turbines.
The Japanese company plans to expand its activities in the wind farm sector in the future and also intended to erect wind power plants in a joint venture with a partner, said Liebherr.
Liebherr explained that in addition to wind farm jobs, the crane is ideal for use in a wide range of industry and infrastructure projects.
