February 1 - Netherlands based Fairmount Marine has delivered the newbuild Noble Tamar jacket to the Tamar gas field in the eastern Mediterranean.
Tugs Fairmount Summit and Fairmount Alpine towed the barge on which the jacket was loaded from the USA to the deepwater gas field southeast of Cyprus.
The 18,500-ton (16,783-tonne) jacket - constructed in Corpus Christi, USA, for energy company Noble Energy Inc - was loaded onto the 260 m barge H-851, the world's largest launch and cargo barge owned by Heerema Marine Contractors.
From Corpus Christi port, the jacket was towed 9,000 miles (14,484 km) to the Mediterranean gas field. The voyage was completed in 54 days. Upon arrival, the two Fairmount tugs assisted with the launch and installation operation.
