December 19 - Fairmount Marine's powerful tug, Fairmount Alpine has successfully assisted in the refloating of the grounded Ikan Sepat just offshore Puerto Cort
Ikan Sepat, a 180 m-long, 28,503 dwt bulk carrier, grounded in the approach to the port of Puerto Cortés.
Fairmount Alpine (pictured below) was mobilised from Jamaica and assisted with propellor washing and soundings at the stern of the grounded vessel. The towing equipment for the refloat attempt was prepared by Fairmount Alpine's deck crew.
