May 31 - A fair wind is blowing for members of the project cargo specialist network, the Project Professionals Group in the wind energy sector.

TransProject LLC, PPG's member in the United States, has been awarded the contract for the transportation of wind turbine towers from Korea to Brazil and other renewable energy plant and equipment shipments from Germany, USA, Canada, China, and India. Transportation will be supported by the PPG network including Sahil Freight Express (India), Rhenus Logistics (Spain), and Polytra N.V. (Belgium).

PPG's member in Korea, Shin-Jo Logitech, provided key support and service on preliminary shipments of flanges which allowed the network to demonstrate its strong presence in Korea.

The contracts awarded so far from this client have resulted in more than USD10 million worth of wind energy plant and equipment shipments over the past two years.

O. Lisboa Despachos, PPG's member in Brazil, provided the local customer support and worked in conjunction with TransProject to deliver client services.

The latest contract announcement comes hot on the heels of the American Wind Energy Association Windpower conference and exhibition in Dallas where PPG members and TransProject teamed up to exhibit.

PPG general manager Kevin Stephens said the dedication and hard work of members during the past two years in the renewable energy sector had been rewarded.

"The strength of the Project Professionals Group is the quality of its membership and track record of success in delivering overdimensional, heavy lift cargos," Mr Stephens said.

The PPG/TransProject USA booth at the American Wind Energy Association Windpower 2010 Exhibition was visited by the world's leading renewable energy companies and saw a live performance from Kenny Rogers impersonator Dave Karl.
