November 24 - Express Global Logistics (EXG) has transported four rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGC) from Nhava Sheva to Mundra, India.
EXG's engineering team arranged the stowage of the cranes, which measured 25.3 m x 11.9 m x 25.1 m and weighed 535 tons (485 tonnes), on one barge.
At the Port of Nhava Sheva, EXG was faced with a tidal range of over 4 m, and over 6 m at the Port of Mundra. For the ro-ro operations, EXG ensured the barge remained at the same level as the jetty by ballasting and de-ballasting the vessel's pumps.
The gap of 3.5 m between the jetty and the barge was bridged by a steel ramp, designed and tested for the purpose.
EXG is a member to the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) in India.
