The port of Everett has started construction on the second phase of its USD36 million South Terminal modernisation project.
According to the port, the project will ensure the port’s facilities are able to support the next generation of over-dimensional cargoes, including aerospace parts for the new 777X.
The South Terminal facility is a part of the port’s overall modernisation efforts. Phase two of the South Terminal project will see the remaining 560 ft (170.7 m) of the 700 ft (213.4 m) dock strengthened. The wharf will also benefit from electrical upgrades.
