August 2 - The European Association of abnormal road transport and mobile cranes (ESTA) placed German materials handling manufacture RUD's ICE-CURT tensioner in its safety category.
The ICE-CURT tensioner is the newest component in RUD's ICE range of high strength chain products specially designed for optimal load security. It features a unique design using a magnetic fastening barrier coupling to more securely fasten heavy loads through shock and vehicle vibrations experienced during long transits, according to a company statement.
The ICE-CURT tensioner received an 2011 ESTA Safety Award as an innovative solution for optimal load security.
ESTA is the unique European organisation for trade associations representing mobile cranes and access platforms, rental companies and abnormal road transport companies.
The EUR170 million (USD241.2 million) RUD group offers chain systems and components for a wide range of applications. It currently has over 1,500 employees working in its production facilities and sales offices located in over 120 countries worldwide.
