August 26 - Donjon Marine supplied Chesapeake 1000 derrick barge services to BBC Chartering USA LLC to unload 22 wind power nacelles each weighing 87 tonnes BBC Orinoco at Searsport, Maine, USA.
Donjon's tug, Atlantic Salvor mobilised the derrick barge from its home base in Port Newark, NJ to Searsport, ME.
The nacelles were discharged from the Orinoco over the course of three, 10-hour work days.
Prior to the Chesapeake 1000's arrival, the Orinoco self-discharged the tower sections and blades associated with the wind farm project. The wind farm components are ultimately bound for the Record Hill development in Western Maine.
"Donjon was excited to work on this cargo unloading project with the help of our Chesapeake 1000, the East Coast's largest heavy-lift capacity derrick barges in service today," said Steve Newes, vice president and project manager, Donjon Marine Co., Inc.
