December 17 - As reported by HLPFI in June, Donjon Marine has been working on the wreck removal and disposal of the remnants of the MV Fedra which grounded and partially sank during a storm late last year off Gibraltar.
Under a contract awarded on March 24 2009, Donjon Marine has worked to remove and dispose of the remnants of the ship.
The work is now complete. The last phase of the work included removal of the 500 tonne main engine and final clean up of the work area. In addition, Donjon removed thousands of gallons of fuel and related contaminates which remained in the hull, accomplishing one of the primary goals of the project to protect the waters off the coast of Gibraltar and surrounding area.
