July 9 - Dockwise has revealed numerous new contracts, a total value of approximately USD175 million, for heavy marine transport as well as transport and installation (T&I) services, writes Louisa Beckett.

Short-term heavy marine transport contracts were awarded for the transportation of jack-up rigs. Included in these contracts is the transportation of large, state-of-the-art new built rigs from Singapore to Brazil on Dockwise Vanguard.

Four long-term heavy marine transport contracts were also awarded of which two include a float-over T&I component.

Dockwise revealed that it will transport a jacket and topside unit for delivery in Malaysia; transport a fixed production structure from Korea to Norway; and will execute the installation of the topside for the Aasta Hansteen development in the North Sea through a dual barge float-over.

The remaining heavy marine transport contract will involve the Dockwise Vanguard, which will be deployed for the transportation of a Floating Production, Storage and Offloading unit (FPSO) from the Far East to West Africa.
