April 26 - Dietmar Flossdorf has added an LTM 1500-8.1 mobile crane to its fleet which comprises of approximately 20 cranes and ten heavy-duty tractor units.
The eight-axle, 500-tonne capacity mobile crane will replace an LTM 1350-6.1. According to Liebherr the mobile crane will provide additional job capacity, particularly in the wind power sector where it will primarily be used for repairs and repowering.
The LTM 1500-8.1 is the first eight-axle crane in the Dietmar Flossdorf fleet.
"The new crane represents the perfect next step into the large crane class", says operations manager Stephan Wassmuth. "As a result of the new challenges we face in the wind power industry, the seven year old LTM 1350-6.1 has reached the limits of its capacity. The new 500-tonne crane will give us more opportunities to tackle repair work and repowering jobs on wind turbines which will mean that the crane will extend our range of services."
Dietmar Flossdorf plans to use the LTM 1500-8.1 throughout Germany in the wind power sector as well as for other hoisting work.
