Peter Glatz, CEO of DB Schenker Region Near Middle East and Africa commented: "We see a big potential in Oman to become another hub in the Middle East. This market is growing steadily, with new ports and airports being established. This joint venture will enhance our strong position in the GCC region."
In Africa, DB Schenker Logistics has opened its own business in Namibia. Over the past five years, the customers relied on the service of partner Desert Logistics. After a successful partnership, it was agreed that DB Schenker would acquire 100 percent ownership of Desert Logistics to further improve service levels and extend the global reach.
Schenker Namibia (Pty) Ltd is now the representative office of the DB Schenker. Glatz adds: "The focus of activities is on looking forward to exponential growth in the Namibian market whilst maintaining good relations with existing customers by providing reliable and cost efficient world class logistics services."
